Always wanted to have extra shortcuts in gnome. On gnome-hacks.org, there is a solution. I have created a little step by step below to use the keybinding "Windows + E" to open "nautilus". First, open Gnome Configuration Editor by running this command: gconf-editor. You can do this in a terminal or with the run command option in Gnome. Click Apps -> metacity -> keybindings_commands and edit the value of command_1 to nautilus (or whatever you want it to be).
Next go to "global_keybindings" (above the current folder). Scroll down to run_command_1 and enter value <Mod4>e.
It is automatically saved and you may test it right away.
Ubuntu tweak
Another method is using ubuntu-tweak. |
