Ever find winmail.dat files in your mailbox?
Tired of sending replies to have them send emails in cleartext?

Here is sort of a solution...

You can download a file called WMDecode.exe and use it to get the contents from a winmail.dat. This is the site where you can find the program and here is a direct link .

Are you thinking DAMN... I'm running linux! Ofcourse you are and no problems. Make sure you've installed wine and use the following command in your terminal.

wine /path/to/WMDecode.exe /path/to/winmail.dat

This will extract the file in your current working directory. (don't mind the output-rubbish in your terminal)

Oh, don't forget to point the sender to send cleartext mails... ;)
maybe you want to use this site in your email to let the people know how to send cleartext emails.
